We have been assessing the damage storm Derragh inflicted on the Arboretum over the weekend, and we have had to make the difficult decision to keep the Arboretum closed to the public until the new year at least.
Unfortunately, the storm has uprooted 11 trees across the site and caused damage to many more. We will need specialist arborists to help us make the site safe again and the work will take many weeks.
However, we understand that a visit with Santa is a special event in the Christmas calendar for lots of families. And, as we did last weekend, we would prefer to avoid disappointment by cancelling our Father Christmas event due to the closure of the Arboretum, when we are able to relocate Santa to Arley House.
If you have booked onto Santa, please check your emails for detailed updates regarding relocation of Santa and refunds of Arboretum Admission.
